The Pride Of Gujarat, Mufti ‘Abd al-Rahim Lajpuri[1]

A Student of ‘Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri

When Mawlana ‘Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri came to Gujarat (India) after resigning from [his teaching post at Dar al-‘Ulum] Deoband, he resided at Rander[2] for one month. The principal of Jami‘ah [Husayniyah], Mawlana Ibrahim Randeri requested that the students of Jami‘ah be able to benefit from the esteemed ‘Allamah. Accordingly, ‘Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri agreed to teach two lessons. Therefore, Mufti [‘Abd al-Rahim Lajpuri], along with the class of Mawlana Muhammad Sa‘id Randeri, would attend lessons at the residence of [‘Allamah Anwar] Shah. He taught this class Nur al-Anwar and Sharh al-Wiqayah.
