Spilt tea

I was reminded again today as to the fragile nature of our existence. Whilst enjoying tea and an overdue catch up at a friend’s house, my one-year-old daughter reached out and placed her tiny fingers in my blistering cup of tea. As she instinctively pulled her soft gentle hand away she inadvertently tipped the mug over her still unworn soft feet. A panic ensued and she immediately cried in shock and what seemed like sheer agony. My heart stopped as we dealt with the situation and we feared the worse. She calmed down and we did too. All was back to normal and we continued having our conversation.

It could have been an altogether evening was it not for her tights
covering her feet.
